Gulyanag Mammadova
The high-rate vocalist Gulyanag Mammadova Zakir gyzy was born in Boyuk Dahna village of Sheki on 10 June 1973. In 1980-1990 she studied at secondary school No 1 of the village, in 1992-1995 at the mugham faculty of the Music School named after Asaf Zeynally and in 1996-2000 she studied at the faculty of musical theater and cinema at the Azerbaijan State University of Culture and Art. In 2002, she obtained the master’s degree at the university. In 1990-1992, she worked at the Culture House in Sheki. Until 1993, she had been acting as a vocalist at the Azerbaijan State Song Theater named after Rashid Behbudov.
In 1995-1997, she took part in the Malmo festival in the Swedish city of Malmo and held concerts in Stockholm and Coteburg, in 2000, her concerts were held within Ekspo-2000 fair in Germany’s Hannover, and in the cities of Istanbul and Ankara as part of the Turkish Bogazichi festival.
In 2001-2002, she took part in the concert program of the group that promoted the BTC oil pipeline, in 2002, in the first anniversary of Azerbaijan’s membership in the Council of Europe in France’s Strasbourg, in 2002, in Austria’s Vienna, Moscow, Ukraine’s Kiev; in 2002-2003, in the Days of Azerbaijani culture in Moscow, in 2002, in Ukraine, in 2003, in Moscow and Minsk, in 2003, in the Days of Azerbaijani culture held in Mainz, Germany, in 2004, in the events related to Novruz Holiday in Yekaterinburg, in 2005, in Moldova’s Kishinev, in 2005 , at the Azerbaijani Days of Culture in Austria’s Vienna, in 2006, during the Day of State Independence in Nakhchivan. In 1998, she was awarded the honorable title of Honored artist of Azerbaijan.
