Fargana Qasimova
Fargana Alim Gasimova was born on 23 April, 1979. She studied Opera and Khanade Art in the National Conservatoire in 1996-2000. She is a post-graduate at the Conservatoire at the moment.
She has been teaching at the Asef Zeynalli Music School since 2002.
She has performed together with his father, khanende Alim Gasimov in Heydar Aliyev Palace (in 1998, 2000, 2005, 2006 and 2010) and Muslim Magomayev Azerbaijan State Philharmonic hall (2004).
She has attended numerous festivals and concerts in many countries including Russia (Moscow, 2000), Germany (Aachen, 1999), Switzerland (1998), France (Paris, 2001), Austria (Vienna, 1999-2005), Belgium (1999), England (London, 2000), Japan (Tokio, 2005), Italy (Parma, 2007), Poland (Wrocław, 2007).
She took the stage independently without her father for the first time in a festival of women singers in Belgium in 2002. Gasimova gave another solo concert in Denmark in 2004.
Currently, she is participant of Great Silk Road project founded by acclaimed cellist Yo-Yo Ma and member of the Silk Road assembly composed of musicians from across the world. She released an album titled “Deep ocean love” together with Alim Gasimov in 1999.
Belgium film director Chris Delville shot a 53-minute film “Meditation Day” about Fargana Gasimova in 2006.
