Telet Bakykhanov
Telet Bakykhanov was born on 13th of June in 1927 in Baku and died on 30th of May in 2000 in Baku. Kamancha player was awarded to the rank of the Honoured artist in 1975.
In his grow up as musician his uncle Ahmad Bakykhanov played a big role. He got kamancha education from Hafiz Mirzaliyev and Firuz Alizade in the Azerbaijan State Music School named after Asef Zeynally in 1947-1949 years.
He worked as a soloist in the Azerbaijan State Philharmonic society named after Muslim Magomayev since 1947. He was on tours in several countries such as France, Indonesia, Malta, Iran, Iraq, Turkey, Syria and accompanied great mugam khanendes. He was one of the famous performers of “Segah” instrumental mugam on kamancha.
He was the winner and participant of many symposiums and republican and international contests. He was participant of the first and the second international symposiums held in Samarkand in 1970-1980 years and represented Azerbaijan mugam with such famous mugam masters as B.Mansurov, J.Akbarov, A.Gasymov.
