Elman Badalov

Elman Badalov was born on 4th of June in 1929 in Agdam and died on 25th of June in 1991 in Baku. Kamancha player was awarded to the rank of the Honored artist in 1982. He performed in plays and concerts of the Agdam State Drama Theater, was the laureate of the second youth of Azerbaijan festival in 1957. Besides he got education on physics-mathematics in Agdam Pedagogical School and worked as a teacher there in 1947-1951 years. His professional music education he got in the Azerbaijan State Music School in 1957-1961 years and in the Azerbaijan State Conservatoire in 1975-1980 years.
Since 1958 he worked as a soloist of the folk instrumental orchestra named after S.Rustamov under the Azerbaijan State Radio and Television Closed Stock Company and was the leader of the kamancha group. Elman Badalov was on tours and festivals in many countries such as Turkey, Norway, Japan, Denmark, Sweden. “Shur”, “Segah”, “Shushter”, “Rahab”, “Humayun”, “Bayaty Shiraz”, “Rast” and some other instrumental mugams in his performance are saved in the Azerbaijan Teleradio Foundation. He worked as a teacher in music school named after Bulbul and in the Azerbaijan State Conservatoire. His alumni Adalat Vazirov, Agajabrayil Abasaliyev, Yagut Seyidova and others continued his performing traditions.
Telet Bakykhanov

Telet Bakykhanov was born on 13th of June in 1927 in Baku and died on 30th of May in 2000 in Baku. Kamancha player was awarded to the rank of the Honored artist in 1975. In his grow up as musician his uncle Ahmad Bakykhanov played a big role. He got kamancha education from Hafiz Mirzaliyev and Firuz Alizade in the Azerbaijan State Music School named after Asef Zeynally in 1947-1949 years. He worked as a soloist in the Azerbaijan State Philharmonic society named after Muslim Magomayev since 1947. He was on tours in several countries such as France, Indonesia, Malta, Iran, Iraq, Turkey, Syria and accompanied great mugam khanendes. He was one of the famous performers of “Segah” instrumental mugam on kamancha.
He was the winner and participant of many symposiums and republican and international contests. He was participant of the first and the second international symposiums held in Samarkand in 1970-1980 years and represented Azerbaijan mugam with such famous mugam masters as B.Mansurov, J,Akbarov, A.Gasymov.
Adalat Vazirov

Adalat Vazirov was born on April 27 in 1951 in Baku and died on October 5 in 2002 in Baku. Kamancha player, the Honored artist of Azerbaijan Adalat Vazirov got his education in middle educational music school named after Bulbul in 1968 and in the Azerbaijan State Conservatoire in 1974. He was the winner of the V International Music contest held in Moscow in 1974.
Adalat Vazirov was working in the Azerbaijan State Conservatoire and in the Sumgayit Music Colledge as a teacher since 1980 and grew up a lot of well-known tarzens (tar players) and became headmaster of this colledge in 2000. He worked in the Folk Musical Instruments Ensemble under the Baba Salahov and in the ensemble of the Popular artist of the USSR Zeynab Khanlarova. He performed in several foreign countries such as the USA, Canada, Iraq, Egypt, Turkey and highly presented our performing art. Besides kamancha he was master performer of piano and harmony.
Shafiga Eyvazova

Shafiga Eyvazova was born on March 9 in 1947 in Baku. She is one of the best kamancha player and was awarded to the rank of the Popular artist of Azerbaijan in 2000. She got education in 1962-1966 years in Azerbaijan State Music School and in 1966-1971 years in Azerbaijan State Conservatoire. Shafiga Eyvazova is the first woman soloist performer in Azerbaijan. She was the winner in the festivals held in Voronezh in 1970 and in 1973 in Berlin. Shafiga Eyvazova is the soloist of the “Tekfen-Kara Deniz”, the Turkish Symphonic Orchestra since 2003.
Mugam records as “Shur”, “Shushtar”, “Rahab” and many others in her performance are saved in the Azerbaijan Radio and Television Foundation. Shafiga Eyvazova has been working in the Azerbaijan State Music School and in the Azerbaijan State Conservatoire as a teacher since 1967. Now she is the professor of the Azerbaijan National Conservatoire.
Elnur Ahmedov

Elnur Ahmedov graduated from A.Zeynally Baku Music College in 1994 and completed his studies in 1998 and 2000 in class of kamancha of National Music Instruments Department of the Baku Music Academy and respectively received bachelor’s and master’s degrees. He started his working career with the Symphonic Orchestra of the Azerbaijan State Academic Opera and Ballet Theater in 2001. Presently, he is the orchestra artist of high degree. He assists the soloists in “Leyli and Majnun” and “Ashyg Garib” operas with high professionalism.
As a well-known master of kamancha E.Ahmedov also performs in the Mugam trios together with prominent masters like Mansum Ibrahimov, Aygun Bayramova, Gulyaz Mammadova and others. Despite of his young age in the recent years he is a teacher of the Azerbaijan National Conservatory and the Music College at the National Conservatory.
E.Ahmedov successfully represented Azerbaijan national music and the art of Mugam in many countries, such as USA, Great Britain, France, Germany, Sweden, Switzerland, Finland, Iran, Turkey and others. In 2007, he was awarded the title of Honored Artist of Azerbaijan Republic.
Ismayil Hamidov

I.Hamidov graduated from A.Zeynally Music College in 1985. After this he taught at the same College, as well as at the Culture House of Hovsan District. He participated at numerous state concerts.
He accompanied on tar for such prominent masters like People’s Artists Aghakhan Abdullayev, Sakina Ismayilova, Melekhanym Eyyubova, Alim Gasymov, Aygun Bayramova, Mansum Ibrahimov and others.
I.Hamidov successfully represented Azerbaijan music arts in many foreign countries, such as Egypt, France, Austria, USA, United Arab Emirates, Russia, Korea, Turkey, Iran and others where he performed at the Days Of Culture.
Presently he is a soloist of the ‘Jangi’ Pop-Folklore Ensemble. Member of ‘Rast’ Pop Ensemble. In 2008 I.Hamidov was awarded the title of Honored Artist.
Munis Sharifov

Munis Sharifov was born in 1962. M.Sharifov completes his studies in A.Zeynally Music College in 1977 and in Azerbaijan State Conservatory in 1986. Since 1990, he is a teacher of Baku Music Academy. At the same time, he is employed at the Science Laboratory on Restoration of Ancient Music Instruments at the Baku Music Academy.
M.Sharifov has performed in number of state concerts in composition of orchestra. In 2002, he successfully represented Azerbaijan music arts in the concert programs in Paris and Strasbourg, arranged by UNESCO.
The music of the ensemble was recorded to a compact disk by UNESCO. UNESCO has recorded a special compact disk dedicated to this ensemble. In 2005, together with the ensemble he has given brilliant performances on “The Voices From Our Hearts” Festival in Dushanbe, Tajikistan, and in “The Week of Culture of Islamic Countries” in Istanbul, Turkey.
Fakhraddin Dadashov

F.Dadashov graduated from Bulbul Vocational Music School in 1972 and the class of kemancha at the U.Hajibeyli Azerbaijan State Conservatory. Since 1966 till present he is a concert master of A.Bakikhanov National Music Instruments Orchestra at the Azerbaijan Television and Radio. His compact disks were published in several countries, such as Holland, France, Germany, Italy and Canada.
Laureate of international festivals held in France in 1988 and 1998. F.Dadashov made concert tours in almost 50 countries of the world, including Canada, USA, Nicaragua, Cuba, Brazil, Mexico, Great Britain, Germany, France, Sweden, Switzerland, Italy, Spain, Norway, Austria, Thailand, Taiwan, India, Morocco and others.
He is a soloist in J.Garyaghdy Mugam Trio and Docent of the Azerbaijan National Conservatory. In 2000, he was awarded the title of Honored Artists and in 2005-People’s Artist of Azerbaijan Republic.
Elshan Mansurov

E. Mansurov was born in 1962. E.Mansurov completed his studies in class of kemancha of Aghajabrayil Abasaliyev at the Hajibeyov Azerbaijan State Conservatory. During his years of education participated and became laureate in various contest arranged in Azerbaijan. In 1986, he won the first place at the U.Hajibeyli International Contest. Since 1986, he works together with khanende Alim Gasymov. He promoted Azerbaijan Mugams in many countries of the world, such as USA, France, Germany, Great Britain, Belgium, Holland, Spain, Denmark, Sweden, Switzerland, Finland, Italy, Brasil, Iran, Turkey, Marocco, Tunis, Russia and many others.
Regularly participates in the international projects and national festivities arranged by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of Azerbaijan Republic. Since 1997, involved in freelance concert activities. In 2000, established the “ARAZ” children Mugam group. In 2000-2001, this group gave concerts in many cities of France and Germany. In 2000, participated in ‘EXPO-2000’ in Hanover, Germany. Since 2002, he is a member of the Worldwide ‘Atlas’ Ensemble in Holland. In 2004-2006, together with the “Azeri” Mugam Group gave concerts in several European countries. In 2005, together with the ‘Khary Bulbul’ Mugam Group participated at the EXPO-2005 in Nagoya, Japan.
Participated in various concerts in March 2007 in Switzerland, in June 2007 in South Korea, and in July 2007 in several cities of Norway. Recorded his first solo disk in Baku in 2000. His second solo disk is planned to be recorded in France in 2007. Since 2006, participates actively in “The Eternal Mugam” Project arranged by UNESCO Goodwill Ambassador Mehriban Aliyeva. He is a Project Coordinator of promotional Mugam concerts held by UNESCO in the Palace of Shirvanshahs and appointed districts of Azerbaijan. In 2007 he was awarded the title of Honored Artist of Azerbaijan Republic.
Habil Aliyev

He was born in the village of Uchqovaq in the Agdash region of the Azerbaijan Republic on May 28, 1927. At the age of 7, he started his seven years of primary education at school No. 3 in the center of the region. After completing the seventh grade and music school, Habil entered a pedagogical school. Along with studying at the pedagogical school, he played the kamancha at the Agdash State Drama Theater of Najaf bey Vezirov. At the same time, he was a member of the dance group in the Agdash Pioneer House, winning a showcase competition held in Baku in 1944; the contest was recorded on tape, and is still held in the Central Archives.
In 1952 Habil Aliyev came to Baku and entered the kamancha faculty of the secondary professional Music School of Asef Zeynalli. He started to learn the secrets of mugham art from the prominent player of tar Gurban Pirimov and famous singer Khan Shushinski. In 1953 he started accompanying a dance ensemble and then playing kamancha within a trio band in the State Philharmonic society of Azerbaijan. Habil Aliyev’s first TV concert took place in 1961. The Segah, performed with a new technique, caused wide discussions among music fans. In the late 1950s-early 1960s Habil Aliyev developed as a unique master of kamancha and became popular among the people.
The compact disks with Habil Aliyev’s Azeri mugams and national songs was also produced in such big countries as the USA, France, Japan, Italy and Greece. For his contribution in art Habil Aliyev received the honorary title of the Honored Artist on June 29, 1964 and the Popular Artist on January 11, 1978. The world known symphonic work Habilsayaghi, which the famous composer Firangiz Alizade devoted to the prominent artist, gained success in the great concert palaces of a number of countries.
