Nasir Atapur, khanende from Tabriz in "Mugam radio"
Nasir Atapur, a laureate at the 2007 Baku Mugam Contest and a pupil of eminent mugam singer Arif Babayev, was Mugam Radio’s guest on 13 April.
Born in the city of Tabriz, which is now in Iran but is ancient Azerbaijani land, the singer talked about how he had learned national mugam in Azerbaijan and the similarities and differences between Iranian and Azerbaijani mugam.
Nasir gave several fine renditions of folk songs during the programme.
