Azerbaijani Composers’ Association announces competition among young composers
On the occasion of the 90th anniversary of famous composer, People’s Artist of USSR and Azerbaijan, laureate of state award and founder of symphonic mugam genre Fikrat Amirov, the Azerbaijani Composers’ Association has announced a competition among young composers on composing symphonic works (symphonic mugam genre is preferred).
The compositions to be presented to the competition should have a length of 10-12 minutes, according to the Association.
Composers under 35 can attend the composition. They should present the score of their work in a big closed envelope with a motto on it. Pages of the work should include the first and last name of the author. Information about the author (first name, last name, education, contacts, address) should only be in a small envelope having a motto on it.
The works will be accepted until 15 October 2012 at the Azerbaijani Composers’ Association – Str. Khagani, 27.
A winner of the competitions will receive money prize worth AZN2,000. (AzerTAj)
