Azerbaijani musician to conduct in groundbreaking event in Yaroslavl

Mugam RadioOn 11 February, the State Philharmonic of Yaroslavl city of Russia will hold a groundbreaking event dedicated to Azerbaijani music. The orchestra of the Russian Philharmonic will perform at the event. The conductor of the orchestra is Ayyub Guliyev, conductor of the Azerbaijani State Academic Opera and Ballet Theater.

The main organizers of the event are the Russian Culture Ministry, Azerbaijani Embassy in Russia and Yaroslavl State Philharmonic. The orchestra will for the first time perform pieces from Azerbaijani composer Gara Garayev’s ‘Don Quixote’ symphonic etchings and famous singer, composer and Professor Polad Bulbuloglu’s “Love and death” ballet.

Graduate of the Moscow State Conservatory, pianist Alexander Koryakin will perform together with Guliyev. Young pianist Eduard Grigin will play fortepiano and concertino for the orchestra.

The second section of the program will feature “Fantastic Symphony” by Hector Berlioz. Note that Ayyub Guliyev is a graduate of the Baku Music Academy after Uzeyir Hajibeyli, Saint Petersburg State Conservatory after Rimsky Korsakov and Vienna State Music and Art University. Upon the presidential decree signed in 1998, Guliyev’s name was included to the “Golden book” of young talents. (AzerTAj)
